History
The Irish Hunter is the produce of the Irish Draft horse and English Thoroughbred. It is known worldwide for its brilliance over fences. Although a halfbred, the Irish Hunter is usually included in breed books as this horse exhibits a remarkable degree of uniformity in type.
While formerly the main market for Irish horses was in England, the Irish horse is now demanded internationally.
