History
The Malopolski is a halfbred Anglo-Arab or halfbred horse, bred in the southeastern and central regions of Poland. History of the breed dates to the nineteenth century and includes blood of the Thoroughbred , Arab, French Anglo-Arab, Austro-Hungarian halfbred, Shagya, Gidran, Furioso, and Przedswit.
State breeding of these horses is performed at five stud farms having about 300 broodmares. These are: Udorz, Stubno, prudnik, Walewice, and Janow Podlaski. Regional breeding is in the hands of private farmers and is situated in the southeastern and central parts of Poland.

Malopolski horses are used as riding horses for recreation and sport. They are good over fences and especially good at steeplechase. The Malopolski is still being used as an agricultural horse.
